We are very happy to report that the club driveway now been repaired; the potholes have been filled, and safe passage to the club has been reinstated.
The access road to the club has long been a challenge at Holyport; we do not own the road and as such, arranging repairs comes with complications. Previous repairs to the road, of which there have been many attempts over a long period of time, had unfortunately succumbed to time and use. The owners took the decision to undertake the sole responsibility for the latest road repairs for the benefit of the members, additionally providing a gesture of goodwill to the residents.
The repairs have used high quality materials, but we must all do our bit to help maintain the access road. On track roads such as ours, excessive speeds mean that the forces applied through the tires can move the road materials and create conditions for the potholes to form.
As such, we are asking all members to please drive slowly. On our access road, we advise a speed of 5mph, and we will be putting up signs as friendly reminders. We thank the members for their patience whilst the repairs have taken place, and thank you in advance for helping to maintain the road by driving at the appropriate speed.
